Bocce Ball Rules Overview
The object of the game would be to roll your bocce balls closer to the Pallino (jack) ball than your competition.
Bocce can be played on most surfaces (grass or sand) as long as they have been reasonably smooth and level.
The court is 60 feet long by 12 feet broad; nevertheless, the court size can be adapted to meet the playing
space accessible. We have set out all the bocce ball rules for you below so you have a better understanding of the game.
One player per team = four balls per player
Two players per team = two balls per player
Four player per team = one ball per player
The game contains several frameworks. A frame begins with throwing the Pallino by a team toward the
opposite end of the playing court. The game (framework) is complete after the balls are thrown
and points were given. Balls are thrown or rolled underhand.
Whoever wins the coin toss begins by throwing the Pallino into the playing area. The Pallino must
be thrown past the center line and not farther than the four-foot line. If the Pallino lands from the
designated place, the opposing team will throw the Pallino into the playing area.
After the Pallino is in standing, the first team throws their bocce ball. Taking alternate moves, each
team throws their balls toward the Pallino to (A) get their ball closest to the Pallino, (B) to go the
Pallino closer to their ball, or (C) move the competition’s ball. The winning team starts another framework.
Frameworks are played alternately from one end of the court to another.

Pallino compared to opposing team’s bocce balls. The Pallino space mark may be used to discover
which balls are nearer.
The match continues until 12 points are scored or to predetermined points set by the players
before the game begins.
Note: Security should be monitored when playing bocce. It’s recommended that players stay outside
for the playing area when balls are being thrown.
